Dutch/German artist Céline Schroeder (1980) grew up in a small town in the south of The Netherlands. At the age of 17 she moved to Rotterdam to study art at the Willem de Kooning Academy. During this period she participated in a student exchange program with the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff, United Kingdom. After getting her Bachelor degree in 2002 she got a scholarschip from the Mondriaan Fund Amsterdam and was able to move to Basel, Switzerland to study visual and media art at the Academy for Design and Art. Her final degree work won the PricewaterhouseCoopers Startpreis. She lived in Switserland for 3 years and in 2006 returned to The Netherlands where she now lives and works. In 2014 she became a member of the drawing-society Pictura Dordrecht. In 2020 she got a work-stipend from the city of Dordrecht for research and developping her art.
